Interesting Day

I had a very intersting day today.  I crisscrossed this country, heading out to a meeting.  I spent the trip out listening to Louie Giglio and U2 (not at the same time) and reading Paulo Freire.  The meeting went really well and I learned a lot (and got a lovely tour of Bristol).  Walking back to the train station I checked out a beautiful gothic church from wence John Cabot left to discover Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.  They have a stained glass window of him leaving on the boat, a model of his boat and a whale rib he brought back from Newfoundland.  Very cool.  Plus, an amazing church.  Of course, my camera died in the middle of the church.  Argh!

Coming back there was one giant cloud over the whole country.  It looked like the train was just skimming under the bottom of this black cloud.  It looked pretty cool.  On the train on the way back I listened to Rob Bell and then read my latest Ann Patchett book.

It’s nice to occasionally take a whole day to do something, rather than always dashing between meetings!  It gave me time to think before and after the meeting, which was a nice change!
