This is a really delightful little book. Unlikely to stretch the reader intellectually, but it’s a fun (fictional) little story of the Queen taking an adventurous side trip up to Scotland to see her beloved Britannia, a symbol of happier days for her, and the chaos that ensues among her staff. The stories of the staff are interesting (if a tad predictable) and the Queen’s inner dialogue is engaging.
I was shocked to see that the author lives in the US as the book showed a good understanding of the British.
A good British version of a beach book.
