I picked up this book for tips on being a ‘girl boss’ on a particularly bad week (Side note – do other women give male bosses their admin work to do??). It’s an easy read, though mostly aimed at millenials and early career professionals Lots of good advice on starting a business, getting a job, and getting ahead.
Great chapters about the hard work that went into her success at Nasty Girl and that you can’t take all the perks at the beginning. The perks come with time (I particularly liked the chapter on Your Money Looks Better in the Bank than it Does On Your Feet. Beautiful shoes are great, but reinvesting is important first.)
She’s made it work with no apologies. It didn’t beat a little more ruthlessness into me as I’d hoped, but you can’t have everything.
Highly readable. Made me laugh and gave me lots of good quotes. Recommend.
